Understanding Long Term Care..it's not just for getting older anymore

Long Term Care...who wants to think about it when you are young, right?

I know that when we think about it we think we are signing our destiny for needing it....don't do a Last Will & Testament because it means you will need it.  Don't think about Long-Term Care Insurance because if you do, you will need it.

We don't have homeowners insurance because we expect to have a fire, we have in "just in case" and if that "just in case" happens we cannot afford to pay to replace our home and the contents.

If you think you "don't need it" or don't need to "think about it" just yet.....read these interesting facts:

According to the National Clearing House for LTCI Information, 2008, 40% of people receiving long-term care are working-age adults between the ages of 18-64!!!!  How old are you?

Prudential Research Report: Long Term Care Cost Study, 2010, states:  74% of consumers ages 55-65 polled for a survey said they are concerned about needing some kind of long-term care.

Baby Boomers....changed the world!  they will also significantly impact the potential demand for long-term care services over the next two decades!!  Prudential Financial: Over the next 20 years the number of Americans age 65 and older will more than DOUBLE to 71 MILLION which will comprise 20% of the U.S. Population!!!

Are you a woman?  Married to one?  Have a mother?  Did you know that women will need longer care because they typically live longer (National Clearinghouse for Long-Term Care Information, 2008).

Nationally, home health care costs have grown by 13% since 2008!  The annual cost for a private room in a nursing home exceeds $90,000 in 2010 (Prudential Research Report:  Long Term Care Cost Study, 2010.

Sorry we don't have this policy

Client:  Jim´s barn burned down. Julie, his wife, called the insurance company and said, "We had that barn insured for fifty thousand and I want my money."

Cheryl:  "Whoa there, just a minute, Julie, it doesn´t work like that. We will assess the value of the building and provide you with a new one of comparable worth."

Julie, after a pause, said, "Well, in that case, I´d like to cancel the policy on my husband."

Home is where the Heart is

Home is Where the Heart is

Our home.  It is where we can walk into and be glad we are there.  It is where we feel safe.  It is where we go to escape the rest of the world.

Why is it that we do not know exactly what our homeowners insurance covers?  Why is it that we find out, after it is too late, that the coverage we need isn't covered.

If home is where the heart is it is time for an EKG of your home.

Whether you are a homeowner or a renter it is essential that you protect your heart.  Everything valuable to you is stored in your heart.  Homeowners or renters insurance cannot replace everything as we all own items that can never be replaced; a ring passed down from generation to generation, family albums, children's achievements, etc.  While insurance can never replace those items what it can do is ease your mind when tragedy strikes.

One of the biggest tragedies that happens in a home and the owner finds out AFTER that it is not covered under their current policy.  This can cost you thousands of dollars, hours lost at work to take care of the details and much stress on a family.

Cheryl makes sure ALL of her clients know what their policy covers, what it doesn't and will work closely with each and everyone to make sure they UNDERSTAND and have the coverage they need, whether she has the policy or not.

Take her your current policy and let her explain what your coverage means to you.  If she can get you the same coverage OR better and save you money she will.  If you have a better policy than she can offer she will tell you.  Cheryl is a honest agent and truly wants what's best for YOU and would never compromise your heart.

You can trust Cheryl to give you the RIGHT answer.  You can trust Cheryl to tell you if she can get you a better policy and you can trust Cheryl to tell you if she can't.
